About the False Bay

Coming from Cape Point, the False Bay coastline (False Bay Peninsula) stretches from Smitswinkel Bay in the south to Bailey’s Cottage Beach as you head up the coastline (northwards) towards The City of Cape Town. Beaches along this stretch of coastline enjoy the warmer waters of the Indian Ocean and are popular for swimming and other water sports. Be warned, they are also exposed to the infamous Cape South Easter winds, so it’s best to frequent them in the morning.
